Connect Build

The bit we build ourselves.

On the rest of Connect you post a job and a vetted local tradie quotes it. This is different — these are built by our own crew out of Whangamatā. Done properly, on the Coromandel.

Connect Granny Flats

$280,000 – $420,000 for a finished 70 m² unit

Since 15 January 2026 you can put a standalone one-bedroom unit of up to 70 m² on your section without a building consent — as long as it's built to the exemption's rules and the council paperwork is done properly. We build them, we live here, and we handle that paperwork.

No consent doesn't mean no paperwork →

Connect New Builds

$3,500 – $5,500 a square metre, finished

New builds on the Coromandel — places to live in and places to escape to — by a crew that's still here in July. We know which cladding survives the salt, which sites flood, and how to get trades onto a Pāuanui job in January.

Connect Portable Cabins

$70 – $110 a week to hire

Sleepouts, home offices and extra bedrooms, delivered on a truck and craned onto your section in an afternoon. Hire one by the week or buy it outright. Built in our yard in Whangamatā, not shipped in from offshore.

Being portable doesn't make it exempt — the size does →

Connect Sheds

$8,500 – $16,500 for a shed, delivered and placed

Garden sheds, kitset garages, farm and implement sheds, sleepouts. Built on a slab that's actually level, with the consent rules sorted — most sizes come with a condition people don't know about.

The 30 m² rule has a catch →

No consent doesn't mean no rules

The consent exemptions people get excited about come with conditions attached, and most people only find out about them when they sell. We build to those conditions and do the paperwork that goes with them, so what you end up with is lawful and sellable.

Not sure which of these you actually need? Ring us or email admin@connectcoromandel.co.nz and we'll tell you straight — including when the answer is “don't”.
